Mammals
“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and the little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.”
Isaiah 11 : 6 - 7 KJV
I've learned that whatever the subject I photograph, there's always a story to tell... Interestingly, when it comes to animals in particular, there are some that are more photogenic than others. Also there are those that require a wide angle lens for their size and others a telephoto zoom. And of course some are slow and stay put. Then there are those necessitating a high-speed lens and quick reflexes. (Desert Tortoise I'm looking at you!)
Kidding aside, looking back at my journey in photography I realize: I actually have quite a few cow photos... Some of my favorite moments with a camera have involved cows. They look right at the camera, they usually have very strong facial expressions (typically the "why are you pointing that thing at me" look) and of course, they are relatively easy to photograph as they stay in a stationary spot (usually).
So in this Passage from Isaiah, we are reminded that a time will come where God will Eliminate the danger of being around certain animals, including predatory mammals like the leopard and lion. Even the cow and bear shall feed on the same grass together! I won't be using a camera when that time comes, but what a sight that will be... Looking forward to it!
