The Seasons
“Nevertheless He left not Himself without witness, in that He did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.”

Have you ever had the opportunity to take a stroll through a grove of aspen trees, in the crisp cool air of a passing rainstorm, and witness the brilliant colors emerge as the sun comes through the parting clouds? The fresh air takes on a greater intensity and even the cool air takes on a hint of warmth that wraps around you and reminds you that even though Autumn has arrived and indeed colder times are ahead, there is still a comfort to be experienced that really makes that stroll worthwhile.
This passage from Acts of the Apostles makes a point about seasons. It also teaches that the Love of Jesus is, unlike the changing times of year around us - never changing. In our lives yes, there are times that are fruitful. There are times that are not so much. There are times that are warm and cheery. There are times that are cold and dreary. Even with the highs and lows we experience in the world, we are reminded to be of good cheer. The seasons may change - but The Lord does not...
